1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Carl
4 Brockmeier of Carlinville on Tuesday, December 10, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Brockmeier was born on November 2, 1935 in
6 Carlinville to William Robert and Helen Emerick Brockmeier;
7 he married Elaine Fones in 1958 in Carlinville; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Brockmeier was a meat cutter for several
9 years and owned and operated Carl's IGA in Carlinville for 25
10 years, retiring in 1995; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Brockmeier was an active member of the
12 community and contributed his time and talents to Elks Lodge
13 1412 and St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville;
14 he was a U.S. Army veteran; and
15 WHEREAS, The passing of Carl Brockmeier has been felt by
16 all who knew him, especially his wife, Elaine; his two sons,
17 Rob (wife, Becky) and Bill Brockmeier; his daughters, Beth
18 Ann Brockmeier and Carla (husband, Dennis) Boehm; his four
19 grandchildren; and his two cousins; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
22 of Carl Brockmeier and offer his family and friends our
23 sincere condolences; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the family of Carl Brockmeier with our deepest
26 sympathy.
