 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were  saddened  to  learn of the death of Robert E.
 4    Kenny Jr. of Oak Lawn on January 4, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mr. Kenny was born on July 10, 1942 in  Chicago;
 6    he  graduated  from  Leo High School, and went on to graduate
 7    from Loyola University in  1954  and  DePaul  University  Law
 8    School in 1961; and

 9        WHEREAS,  He  served  as  a United States Army Helicopter
10    Pilot Captain from  1954  to  1966;  he  was  a  Cook  County
11    Assistant  State's Attorney from 1961 to 1965 when he entered
12    the private practice of law; and

13        WHEREAS, Mr. Kenny was 43-year parishioner of St.  Gerald
14    Church in Oak Lawn, a 38-year member of South Suburban Sierra
15    Club,  and  past officer of the Southwest Bar Association; he
16    was a volunteer for the  Chicago  Southwest  P.A.D.S.  and  a
17    member  of  the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce and the
18    Mother McAuley and St. Laurence parents clubs; and

19        WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by all who  knew
20    and  loved  him,  especially  his wife of 48 years, Mary; his
21    children,  Robert  E.  (Kathleen)  Kenny  III,  Karen  Kenny,
22    Colleen (Mark)  McNicholas,  Eileen  (John)  Mullen,  Michael
23    (Mary   Beth)  Kenny,  Brian  Kenny,  William  (fiancee  Beth
24    McCormick) Kenny, James (Diane) Kenny, Sean (Jennifer) Kenny,
25    and Maureen (Ted) Pasquinelli; his  grandchildren,  Michaela,
26    Mary  Kate  and  Maureen Kenny, Brianne, Bridget, Caitlin and
27    Maggie McNicholas, Alleen, Megan and Michael Kenny, Brian and
28    Vincent Kenny, Kevin, Andrew and Ryan Kenny, Sean  Kenny  and
29    Kathryn Pasquinelli; his mother, Lauretta; his siblings, Joan
30    (Lawrence)  O'Connell,  Raymond  (Barbara)  Kenny, and Connie
31    (James)  Sullivan;  and  his  sister-in-law,  the   Honorable
32    William F. (Judy) Ward; and

 1        WHEREAS,  He  was preceded in death by his father, Robert
 2    Kenny and  his  brothers,  Roger  (Peggy)  Kenny  and  Ronald
 3    (Helen) Kenny; therefore, be it

 4        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
 5    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
 6    Robert E. Kenny Jr., along with all who knew  and  loved  him
 7    and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends;
 8    and be it further

 9        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
10    presented to the family of Robert E. Kenny Jr.
