BOLAND-SMITH,MICHAEL-HOLBROOK. (ROSKAM) New Act Creates the Illinois Commemorative Quarter Act. Requires the Governor to submit 5 design concepts to the United States Mint to adorn the reverse side of the Illinois quarter the Mint is to issue in 2003. Provides that after the Mint creates the designs and returns them to the State for the final selection process, the State Board of Education shall implement a voting system in which all students in this State in kindergarten through 12th grade are given the opportunity to vote to choose which of the 5 designs is to be the final design officially selected by the Governor. Effective immediately.
