MATHIAS-COULSON. 65 ILCS 5/11-42-2.2 Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the corporate authorities of a municipality may regulate, license, or inspect a retail establishment that sells cigarettes or other tobacco products. Allows the corporate authorities to determine the location of vending machines that sell cigarettes or other tobacco products. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes the provision that the corporate authorities of a municipality may provide for the regulation, licensing, and inspection of any retail establishment that sells cigarettes or other tobacco products. Limits the authorization for corporate authorities of a municipality to determine the location of vending machines that sell cigarettes or other tobacco products to those locations that are not described in a retailers on premise consumption license issued under the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Adds an immediate effective date.
