FEIGENHOLTZ. New Act Creates the Disclosure of Ingredients in Tobacco Products Act. Provides that beginning in the year 2003, any manufacturer of cigarettes, snuff, or chewing tobacco shall provide the Department of Public Health with an annual report that lists specified information for each brand of product sold. FISCAL NOTE (Department of Public Health) To adequately set standards and make available to the public the information which is required by HB 4149, the Department will need to seek expertise not currently available within the Department. It is estimated that, a minimum of 3 full-time employees and clerical support, as well as equipment and soft- ware will be necessary. Depending on the method utilized by the Department to make public the annual reports, there would also be costs for printing or information technology. The total impact for the Department of Public Health is estimated at $275,000.
