   40 ILCS 5/4-101           from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 4-101                      

        Amends the Illinois Pension Code. Makes a technical change  in  a      
   Section concerning downstate firefighters.                                  
          PENSION NOTE (Illinois Pension Laws Commission)                      
          HB 5169 has no fiscal impact.                                        
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          40 ILCS 5/4-101                 from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 4-101         
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          40 ILCS 5/16-127                from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 16-127        
          40 ILCS 5/16-128                from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 16-128        
        Deletes everything.  Amends the Downstate Teacher Article of  the      
   Illinois  Pension Code to allow purchase of credit for certain private      
   school service.  Also increases the number of  unused  sick  days  for      
   which credit may be established.  Effective immediately.
