LINK. 70 ILCS 2305/3 from Ch. 42, par. 279 Amends the North Shore Sanitary District Act. Requires the board of trustees of a sanitary district to notify the chairperson of the county central committee of the appropriate political party of a vacancy in the office of trustee. Requires the chairperson of the county central committee to call a meeting of the precinct committeemen whose precincts are wholly or partially in the ward in which the vacancy exists. Requires the precinct committeemen to nominate 3 people to fill the vacancy by a weighted vote. Requires the precinct committeemen to notify the president of the board of trustees of their nominees. Provides that the vacancy shall be filled by the appointment of one of the precinct committeemen's nominees by the president with the advice and consent of the board of trustees (now, the vacancy is filled by an appointment made by the president with the advice and consent of the board of trustees). Provides that the person appointed shall serve for the remainder of the term or, if more than 28 months remain in the term, until the next regular election at which trustees are elected (now, the person appointed serves until the next regular election at which trustees are elected).
