MYERS-WEAVER. New Act Creates the Higher Education Institution Symbol and Trademark Act. Prohibits a person from using the symbol of a public institution of higher education without the prior consent of that institution. Provides that a person who violates this prohibition is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor for a first offense and a Class A misdemeanor for a second or subsequent offense. Effective immediately.
