House Sponsors: RYDER. Short description: CORPORATE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Corporate Practice of Medicine Act. Provides that only specified entities shall practice medicine, hold themselves out to practice medicine, furnish medical services, advertise under the name of a licensed physician, or solicit through themselves or their agents, officers, employees, directors, or trustees on behalf of a licensed physician. Provides that employing entities may employ physicians to practice medicine in all of its branches provided that certain requirements are met. Provides a right of action in circuit court and specifies recovery for a violation of the Act. Effective September 30, 2001. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: New Act Adds reference to: 210 ILCS 85/10.5 new Deletes everything. Amends the Hospital Licensing Act.
