INCOME TAX-STANDARD EXEMPTION                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act.  Provides  that  for  taxable      
   years  ending  on  or  after December 31, 2001, each taxpayer shall be      
   allowed a basic exemption amount of  $3,000  (now,  $2,000).   Exempts      
   this  amendatory  change  from  the  sunset  requirements  of the Act.      
   Effective immediately.
