Short description: 
PEN CD-IMRF-CONVERT SLEP CREDS                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the IMRF Article of the Illinois Pension Code.   Allows  a      
   sheriff's law enforcement employee (SLEP) to convert up to 10 years of      
   non-SLEP  service  credit into SLEP credit by paying the difference in      
   employee contributions, plus interest.  Amends the State Mandates  Act      
   to   require   implementation   without   reimbursement.     Effective      
   immediately.                                                                
          PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission)                               
          The fiscal impact of HB 967 has not been calculated. However,        
          there will be a cost to the employer, as the purchase of this        
          service credit requires only employee contributions (plus            
          interest).
