Short description: 
SALES TAX-BULK VENDING MACHINE                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Use Tax Act and the  Retailers'  Occupation  Tax  Act.      
   Provides  that  "bulk vending machine" means a vending machine (now, a      
   nonelectrically  operated  vending   machine),   containing   unsorted      
   confections,  nuts, toys, or other items designed primarily to be used      
   or played with by children (now, unsorted confections, nuts, or  other      
   merchandise)  which,  when  a  coin  or  coins  (now,  a  coin)  of  a      
   denomination  not  larger  than $0.50 are (now, one cent is) inserted,      
   are dispensed in equal portions, at random, and without  selection  by      
   the customer.  Effective January 1, 2002.                                   
          FISCAL NOTE (Department of Revenue)                                  
          There will be a reduction in sales tax revenues, the fiscal          
          impact to the Department and to the State will be minimal.
