Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Amends the Chicago Firefighter Article of the Illinois Pension
Code. Provides a new retirement annuity formula for persons who are
required to withdraw from service with at least 10 but less than 20
years of service credit due to reaching mandatory retirement age; also
makes them eligible for the automatic annual increase. Amends the
State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement.
   Effective immediately.
          PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission)
The fiscal impact of HB 1872 has not been determined. According
to the Fund, the fiscal impact is expected to be minor, as the
number of members who are required to retire at age 63 with
less than 20 years of service is small.
