Short description: PUB AID-FAMILY VIOLENCE OPTION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the State of Illinois adopts the Family Violence Option of the Social Security Act. Provides for the establishment and enforcement of standards and procedures to identify applicants and recipients of assistance who are past or present victims of domestic violence or are at risk of domestic violence. Provides that program requirements may be waived under specified circumstances. Establishes criteria for finding evidence of domestic violence. Provides that the Department of Human Services, in consultation with State and local domestic violence experts, shall coordinate policies and procedures to comply with the new provisions. Repeals existing provisions dealing with domestic violence assessment and self-sufficiency plans. Effective immediately.
