ELEC CD-CERTIFICATION-DATE                                                 

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Election Code.  Requires the State Board of  Elections      
   to  certify  the names of candidates to the county clerk not less than      
   67 days (now, 61 days)  before  the  date  of  the  general  election.      
   Requires  the county clerk to certify the names of candidates not less      
   than 61 days (now, 55 days) before the date of the  general  election.      
   Effective immediately.                                                      
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          10 ILCS 5/9-10                  from Ch. 46, par. 9-10               
        Further amends the Election  Code.   Provides  that  a  political      
   committee  that  acts  as  either  (i)  a  State  and  local political      
   committee or (ii) a local  political  committee  and  that  files  its      
   financial reports electronically is not required to file copies of the      
   reports  with  the  county clerk if the county clerk has a system that      
   permits access to, and duplication of, reports that are filed with the      
   State Board of Elections.
