Short description: 
VEH CD-DUI-EXTENDED TERM                                                   

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code.  Deletes  language  limiting  a      
   sentence of a term of imprisonment for a felony DUI conviction to 1 to      
   3  years,  making certain defendants who are convicted of a felony DUI      
   eligible for extended term sentences.  Effective immediately.               
          CORRECTIONS NOTE (Department of Corrections)                         
          The impact of HB 2290 would result in an increase of six in-         
          mates, with additional costs of $717,900 over ten years from         
          the date of enactment.                                               
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
        Deletes everything.  Amends the Illinois Vehicle  Code.   Deletes      
   language  limiting  a  sentence of a term of imprisonment for a felony      
   DUI conviction to 1 to 3 years,  making  certain  defendants  who  are      
   convicted  of  a  felony  DUI  eligible  for  extended term sentences.      
   Effective immediately.
