PROPERTY TAX RELIEF

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Amends the Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax
Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act. Changes the short title of
the Act to the Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act.
Provides that the property tax relief applies to all persons (not just
persons at least 65 years of age and disabled persons) who meet the
income eligibility requirements. Requires the Department of Revenue
to adjust income eligibility requirements to reflect inflation.
Changes the maximum amount of a grant, except as otherwise provided,
to $900 (rather than $700) less 4.5% of household income for the year
for those with a household income of $18,000 (rather than $14,000) or
less, or $90 (rather than $70) if the household income for the year is
more than $18,000 (rather than $14,000).
