House Sponsors: BROSNAHAN. Short description: COURT CLERKS-MONITORING FEE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Clerks of Courts Act. Provides that fees collected for electronic monitoring, drug or alcohol testing and screening, probation, and supervision fees are exempt from the disbursement provisions relating to other fees, fines, costs, additional penalties, bail balances assessed or forfeited, and any other amounts paid to the circuit clerk. Effective immediately. FISCAL NOTE (Office of Illinois Courts) In Cook County and the other counties that have elected to distribute money under Sections 27.5 and 27.6 of the Clerks of Courts Act, HB 2455 would decrease the amount of money dis- tributed to local governments, the county general fund and the State. The specific amount of the decrease cannot be determined because the amount will depend on the amount of the fees im- posed and the number of cases involved. HB 2455 would increase the amount of money deposited in Probation and Courts Services Funds in the counties affected.
