Makes a technical change in a Section concerning teacher certification. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 105 ILCS 5/21-11.3 Adds reference to: 105 ILCS 5/10-21.9 from Ch. 122, par. 10-21.9 105 ILCS 5/34-18.5 from Ch. 122, par. 34-18.5 Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the School Code. Requires student teachers assigned to a school district to authorize a criminal background investigation. Provides that upon receipt of this authorization, the school district shall submit the student teacher's personal information to the Department of State Police, who shall conduct the investigation. Prohibits a school board from knowingly allowing a person to student teach who has been convicted for a specified offense or for whom a criminal background investigation has not been initiated. Effective immediately.
