House Sponsors: JONES,JOHN-HARTKE-SAVIANO. Senate Sponsors: WATSON-DUDYCZ Short description: TWP CD-TRANSFER OF FUNDS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Township Code. For the period of one year, allows township boards of townships located in a county with a population of less than 100,000 to, by ordinance, transfer moneys from the public assistance fund to the road and bridge fund if an amount of at least $5,000 remains in the public assistance fund. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 60 ILCS 1/255-5 Adds reference to: 60 ILCS 1/235-20 Deletes everything. Amends the Township Code. Provides that the optional one-time transfer of moneys from the general assistance fund to the general township fund may not be completed later than one year after the effective date of this amendatory Act (instead of "the end of fiscal year 1992"). Provides that any township that has certified a new levy or an increase in the levy during the calendar year 2002 (instead of 1990) may not use the optional one-time transfer of funds. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that certain townships may transfer moneys from the general assistance fund only if the amount remaining in the fund after the transfer is equal to the greater of (i) the amount of the town- ship's expenditures in the previous fiscal year for general assistance or (ii) an amount equal to either 0.10% of the last known total equal- ized value of all taxable property in the township or 100% of the highest amount levied for general assistance purposes in any of the 3 previous fiscal years (instead of just "0.10% of the last know total equalized value of all taxable property in the township").
