Short description: 
VEH CD-PROOF OF INSURANCE-FINE                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code.  Provides  that  a  person  who      
   fails  or refuses to comply with an officer's request to show proof of      
   insurance is guilty of a petty offense and shall be required to pay  a      
   fine  of $25.  Provides that the fine shall be in addition to any fine      
   that may be imposed for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.            
          JUDICIAL NOTE (Illinois Courts Administrative Office)                
          HB 4292 would neither increase nor decrease the number of            
          judges needed in the State.                                          
          HOME RULE NOTE

          HB 4292 does not pre-empt home rule authority.
