Short description: 
CRIM CD-AIR BAGS                                                           

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Provides that any  person  who      
   knowingly installs or reinstalls in a vehicle any object in lieu of an      
   air   bag   that  was  designed  in  accordance  with  federal  safety      
   regulations for the make, model, and year of the vehicle as part of  a      
   vehicle   inflatable   restraint   system  is  guilty  of  a  Class  A      
   misdemeanor.                                                                
          JUDICIAL NOTE (Illinois Courts Administrative Office)                
          HB 4353 would neither increase nor decrease the number of            
          judges needed in the State.                                          
          CORRECTIONAL NOTE (Department of Corrections)                        
          There would be no fiscal impact or impact on the corrections         
          population from HB 4353.                                             
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
        Provides that the prohibition on installing or reinstalling in  a      
   vehicle  an  object  in  lieu  of an airbag only applies if the person      
   installs or reinstalls the object for consideration.
