House Sponsors: BROSNAHAN AND SCHMITZ. Short description: VEH CD-ACCIDENT RECORDS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Department of Transportation may furnish to any person or entity in bulk electronic form copies of accident records from which any personally identifying information has been removed, if the person or entity has stated in writing that the records will be used only for identifying vehicles that have been involved in accidents or damaged and not for identifying individuals. FISCAL NOTE (Illinois Department of Transportation) There will be some additional costs to the Department. These costs may be offset by the fee revenue. However, the actual fiscal impact is indeterminable.
