Short description: 
CD CORR-DRUG TRAFFC PREVNT FND                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that  moneys  in      
   the  Drug  Traffic  Prevention  Fund deposited from fines awarded as a      
   direct result of enforcement  efforts  of  the  Illinois  Conservation      
   Police  may  be  used by the Department of Natural Resources Office of      
   Law Enforcement  for  use  in  enforcing  laws  regulating  controlled      
   substances  and  cannabis on Department of Natural Resources regulated      
   lands and waterways. Effective July 1, 2002.                                
          FISCAL NOTE (Department of Natural Resources)                        
          There would be no increase or decrease in revenues or expendi-       
          tures of State funds. Currently, only the State Police can use       
          the monies discussed in the bill.                                    
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          720 ILCS 550/12                 from Ch. 56 1/2, par. 712            
          720 ILCS 570/505                from Ch. 56 1/2, par. 1505           
        Amends the Cannabis  Control  Act  and  the  Illinois  Controlled      
   Substances Act.  Provides that all moneys and the sale proceeds of all      
   other property forfeited and seized under the Cannabis Control Act and      
   Illinois  Controlled  Substances Act as a direct result of enforcement      
   efforts of the Illinois Conservation Police may also be  used  by  the      
   Department   of  Natural  Resources  Office  of  Law  Enforcement  for      
   enforcing  laws  regulating  controlled  substances  and  cannabis  on      
   Department regulated lands and waterways.

          There is no way to estimate how much annually could be               
          recovered from the fines and forfeitures authorized by               
          this legislation.                                                    
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          720 ILCS 550/12                                                      
          720 ILCS 570/505                                                     
        Deletes the amendatory changes to the Cannabis  Control  Act  and      
   the Illinois Controlled Substances Act.
