Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that it is a  Class  A      
   misdemeanor  to knowingly disclose personal identifying information of      
   another person without the authorization of that person. Provides that      
   a person whose personal identifying information is  disclosed  without      
   that  person's  consent  has  a cause of action against the person who      
   disclosed that information and may  recover  court  costs,  attorney's      
   fees, actual damages, and punitive damages for damage to reputation or      
   credit rating. Effective immediately.                                       
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Deletes everything. Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides         
   that a person who is convicted of financial identity theft or               
   aggravated financial identity theft is liable in a civil action to the      
   person who suffered damages as a result of the violation. Provides          
   that the person may recover court costs, attorney's fees, lost wages,       
   and actual damages. Effective immediately.
