Senate Sponsors: RAUSCHENBERGER-SYVERSON-CULLERTON-PARKER-MUNOZ Short description: MEDICAID-TRANSPLANT-ALIEN KIDS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the Department of Public Aid to gather and report data concerning illegal alien children, organ transplantation, and Medicaid. Requires a report to the Governor and the General Assembly by January 1, 2003. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Replaces the provisions setting forth the data to be gathered and reported by the Department of Public Aid. Requires that the Department gather and report the following data: (1) the number of children under 19 years of age who, because of their immigration status, received medical coverage from the Department only for emergency services during the State fiscal years 1999, 2000, and 2001; and (2) the total payments, charges, categories of service, and diagnoses of the children under 19 years of age who, because of their immigration status, received medical coverage from the Department only for emergency services during the State fiscal years 1999, 2000, and 2001. Repeals the amendatory provisions on July 1, 2003.
