House Sponsors: HARTKE. Short description: OIL & GAS-DOCUMENTED EVENT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Oil and Gas Act. Provides that a penalty or sanction for violation of the Act shall not be imposed for any documented event for which (i) an administrative remedy has previously been imposed, unless to enforce the terms of the administrative remedy, or (ii) administrative enforcement action has been initiated and concluded. Provides that remedies for violations of the Act shall not include the requirement of any bond as a condition of continuing operation within the State or the revocation of or refusal to issue any drilling or operating permits.
