House Sponsors: TENHOUSE-BELLOCK-WOJCIK. Short description: LONG-TRM CR DEMO GRANTS ACT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Innovations in Long-term Care Quality Demonstration Grants Act. Requires the Director of Public Health to establish a long-term care grant program that demonstrates the best practices and innovation for long-term care service, delivery, and housing. Provides that the grants must fund programs that demonstrate creativity in service provision through the scope of their program or service. Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act and the Nursing Home Care Act. Provides that one-half of the penalties collected each year from those Acts shall be used to award grants under the Innovations in Long-term Care Quality Demonstration Grants Act. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 210 ILCS 9/160 Adds reference to: 30 ILCS 105/5.570 new Replaces the title and everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the bill as introduced with the following changes. Changes the name of the Act to the Innovations in Long-term Care Quality Grants Act. Creates the Innovations in Long-term Care Quality Demon- stration Grants Fund. Provides for review, ranking, and recommendation of applications by a commission (rather than a review panel) composed of specified members. Deletes the provision capping the grants at $500,000 annually. Deletes the provision in the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act providing that one-half of the penalties collected each year from that Act shall be used to award the grants. Makes other changes. Amends the State Finance Act to create the Innovations in Long-term Care Quality Demonstration Grants Fund. Effective immediately.
