Senate Sponsors: GEO-KARIS-PARKER Short description: TAX CREDITS-EMPLOYEE CHLD CARE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Provides that the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs, in cooperation with the Department of Revenue, shall track and monitor the use by Illinois employers of the tax credits for employee child care created by Public Act 91-930 and report to the Governor's Children and Family Leadership Subcabinet by March 1, 2002, and each March 1 thereafter, on the extent the credits are used and reasons why employers are not using the credits. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes everthing. Creates the Family-Friendly Workplace Task Force and establishes its membership and duties. Provides that the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs, in cooperation with the Department of Revenue, shall track and monitor the use by Illinois employers of the tax credits for employee child care created by Public Act 91-930 and report to the Governor's Children and Family Leadership Subcabinet and the Task Force by March 1, 2002, and each March 1 thereafter, on the extent the credits are used and reasons why employ- ers are not using the credits. Provides that the Task Force shall study the availability of family-friendly workplace incentives and the use of the tax credits in Illinois. Provides that the Task Force shall report its initial findings to the General Assembly by December 31, 2002, and its subsequent findings by December 31 of each year thereafter.
