Short description: 
PRIVITIZE-DEPT OF CORRECTIONS                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Urges the General Assembly to forestall efforts to  incrementally      
   privatize  the operations of the Department of Corrections.  Urges the      
   Department of Corrections to  revise  its  budget  to  allow  for  the      
   dietary, educational, health, and commissary services at Kewanee Youth      
   Center and Lawrence Correctional Center to be provided by employees of      
   the  Department  of  Corrections  and to seek the authorization of the      
   General Assembly, prior to the privatization of any aspects of a State      
   correctional facility, to request bids for services that are  normally      
   performed by employees of the Department of Corrections.
