Short description: DOT-STUDY ON HIGHWAYS AND COST Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Directs the Department of Transportation to conduct a study to determine the number of miles of county highways and township roads that need to withstand a weight of 80,000 pounds and the necessary costs and to report its findings to the General Assembly by the fall 2001 veto session. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the Department shall conduct the study in coopera- tion with municipalities (as well as in cooperation with county and township road commissioners). Provides that the Secretary of Trans- portation shall report the Department's findings by January 1, 2002 (rather than by the first day of the fall 2001 veto session).
