Senate Sponsors: WALSH,T. Short description: RETAIL GASOLINE COMPETITION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Motor Vehicle Fuel Sales Competition Improvement Act. Prohibits a producer or refiner of petroleum products from operating a retail service station with its own employees, a subsidiary company, or a commissioned agent, or under a contract; also prohibits such a producer or refiner from selling motor fuel at a retail service station. Provides for exceptions. Provides for enforcement by means of a civil action brought by the Attorney General or a person adversely affected by a violation of the Act. Effective January 1, 2002.
