House Sponsors: MOORE-ZICKUS-YOUNGE Short description: VEH CD SCHOOL BUS DRIVER-PRINT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that individuals who possess a valid school bus driver permit that has been previously issued by the Regional School Superintendent are subject to fingerprinting requirements (instead of not subjecting individuals who possess a valid school bus driver permit that has been previously issued by the Regional School Superintendent to the fingerprinting requirements as long as the permit remains valid and does not lapse). Establishes procedures for collecting, processing, and storing the fingerprints. Provides applicants must pay the costs of fingerprint- ing, but drivers previously issued permits need not. Provides that the State, subject to appropriation, shall reimburse school districts for the costs of fingerprinting. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Changes the date for completion to July 1, 2002. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 5. Deletes reference to: 625 ILCS 5/6-106.1 Adds reference to: 815 ILCS 710/6 from Ch. 121 1/2, par. 756 Deletes everything. Amends the Motor Vehicle Franchise Act. Provides that any motor vehicle franchiser and at least a majority of its Illinois franchisees of the same line make may agree to uniform warranty reimbursement policy under the provision. Sets requirements for the agreements. Effective immediately.
