Senate Sponsors: PARKER. House Sponsors: COULSON-MAY-MILLER Short description: LIMITED LIABILITY CO-MEDICAL Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Limited Liability Company Act. Provides that in addition to the requirement that a limited liability company may be formed for the practice of medicine if all the managers and members are licensed to practice medicine under the Medical Practice Act of 1987, a limited liability company may be formed for the practice of medicine if all the managers are licensed to practice medicine under the Medical Practice Act of 1987 and any of the following conditions apply: (1) the member or members are licensed to practice medicine under the Medical Practice Act of 1987; (2) the member or members are a registered medical corporation or corporations organized pursuant to the Medical Corporation Act; (3) the member or members are a professional corporation organized pursuant the Professional Service Corporation Act that provides the same professional services as the limited liability company; or (4) the member is another medical limited liability company. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that a limited liability company may practice medicine if the members are a professional corporation organized pursuant to the Professional Service Corporation Act of physicians licensed to practice medicine in all of its branches. Makes other technical changes.
