House Sponsors: SAVIANO-FRANKS Short description: MYSTERY SHOPPING EXEMPTION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, and Locksmith Act of 1993. Exempts from licensure a person or business engaged in conducting observations of consumer purchases of products or services in the public environments of a business establishment with the purpose of evaluating customer service, operational procedures, cleanliness, product quality and availability, or pricing with the use of a client-approved, predetermined questionnaire that will be utilized for employee training or incentives, but will not be used as the sole basis for possible employment termination. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 225 ILCS 446/30 Adds reference to: 225 ILCS 446/135 Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, and Locksmith Act of 1993. Makes a technical change to a Section concerning temporary suspension of a license.
