Senate Sponsors: LINK. Short description: DOMESTIC-CHILD CUSTODY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 and the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986. Provides that upon issuance of an order of protection, if the petitioner or respondent has custody of a child under 18 years of age and the noncustodial parent does not reside with the child, the clerk of the court shall send a certified copy of the order of protection to the noncustodial parent. Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act and the Illinois Uniform Conviction Information Act. Provides that if the court appoints a psychiatrist in a child custody or visitation proceeding, the court shall order the Department of State Police to search into criminal history record information files concerning criminal history record information of persons seeking custody or visitation of the child. Amends the Children and Family Services Act. Requires the Department of Children and Family Services to conduct an investigation of the household of a child under 18, if a suicide or attempted suicide occurred in the household.
