Senate Sponsors: MOLARO. Short description: VEH CD-SCHOOL BUS SIGNS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that local school boards may elect, and any school bus company may agree, to display signs bearing public safety messages on their Type I school buses (those with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating more than 10,000 pounds). Provides that the signs may be of any color, may be no larger than 2 feet in height and 6 feet in width, and may be displayed within frames on either side or both sides of any Type I school bus. Provides that local school boards electing to display these signs on their Type I school buses shall adopt rules regarding the content of the signs. Effective immediately.
