Senate Sponsors: MAHAR. House Sponsors: DURKIN Short description: MEDICAID-VENDORS-TERMINATION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. In provisions concerning participation in the Medicaid program by vendors of goods and services, authorizes the Department of Public Aid to deny, suspend, or terminate a vendor's participation if the Department finds that the vendor (or a person having a certain relationship to the vendor) was terminated from participation in a medical assistance program in another state. Authorizes the Department to deny, suspend, or terminate a vendor's participation if the Department finds that the vendor (or a person having a certain relationship to the vendor) has been convicted of a felony offense based on fraud or willful misrepresentation related to medical assistance, Medicare, or the provision of health care services. Provides for rescission of a vendor's termination from participation in the Medicaid program if the termination was based solely on an action by a governmental entity other than the Department of Public Aid. Effective January 1, 2002. FISCAL NOTE (Department of Public Aid) This legislation will have no fiscal impact on DPA.
