SCH CD-COMPETITIVE BIDDING                                                 

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the School Code.  Provides that contracts for the purchase      
   of supplies, materials, or work or contracts with private carriers for      
   the transportation of pupils involving an  expenditure  in  excess  of      
   $20,000  (instead  of  $10,000)  are  to  be  awarded  to  the  lowest      
   responsible bidder. Makes related changes.  Effective immediately.
