Senate Sponsors: SHADID AND LIGHTFORD. House Sponsors: SLONE-SMITH,MICHAEL-MATHIAS Short description: PARK DIST-CONVEY LAND-STATE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Park District Code. Provides that any park district owning and holding real estate is authorized to give, sell, or lease that property to the State of Illinois, with the State's consent, for public use. Provides that if property is given or sold to the State of Illinois or a unit of State or local government, the conveyance must provide that ownership of the property reverts to the park district if the grantee knowingly allows all or any part of the property to be used for purposes other than park or recreational purposes. Provides that property given, sold, or leased to the State (i) must be 50 acres or more in size, (ii) may not be located within the territorial limits of a municipality, and (iii) may not be the site of an environmental liability or hazard. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Further amends the Park District Code. Provides that a park district may sell or lease (instead of give, sell, or lease) property to the State of Illinois with the State's consent. Provides that a park district may give property to the State of Illinois if the property is contiguous to a State park. Provides that property given, sold, or leased to the State of Illinois may not, among other things, be the site of a known environmental liability or hazard (instead of the site of an environmental liability or hazard).
