House Sponsors: MAUTINO-FLOWERS-SLONE-OSTERMAN-LINDNER Short description: COMP HLTH PLAN PREEXISTING Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Act. Provides that the preexisting condition limitations do not apply to an eligible person whose previous coverage was under an individual policy of accident and health insurance that was terminated because of the insolvency of the issuer of that policy. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes the exemption from the preexisting condition exclusions for certain persons. Provides for a waiver of the preexisting condition exclusions for an eligible person who has satisfied similar exclusions under previous coverage under an individual policy of health insurance that was terminated because of the insolvency of the insurer and who has applied for Plan coverage within 63 days following the termination.
