Senate Sponsors: PARKER. Short description: TELCOM SERVICE STANDRD PENALTY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Public Utilities Act. Requires local exchange telecommunications carriers to self-report 3 times each year to the Commission on whether or not the carrier is in compliance with the standards of service for local exchange telecommunications carriers established by the Commission. Imposes a penalty upon carriers that are not in compliance with the service standards. Exempts carriers with no more than 35,000 access lines. Effective January 1, 2002.
