Requires operators of licensed child care facilities to complete a basic training course in providing care to children with disabilities. Requires the Department of Children and Family Services to issue rules and provide technical assistance. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the basic training course will also be made available on a voluntary basis to those providers who are exempt from the licensure requirements of this Act. Deletes the provision that once an operator has presented satisfactory evidence of completion of the basic training course the operator shall not be required to do so again. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 3. Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Requires an owner or operator of a licensed day care home or group day care home or the onsite executive director of a licensed day care center to complete a basic training course in providing care to children with disabilities. Provides that the Department of Children and Family Services shall promulgate rules concerning the requirements for the basic training courses.
