Short description: 
CRIM CD-AIRBAGS-RESTORE                                                    

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of  1961  and  the  Consumer  Fraud  and      
   Deceptive  Business  Practices Act. Provides that it is a violation of      
   the Criminal Code  provision  for  a  body  shop,  salvage  rebuilder,      
   vehicle service maintenance facility, or other person to fail to fully      
   restore  and  repair  to  all applicable federal safety regulations an      
   airbag passive restraint system that is deployed or damaged, to  cause      
   another  person to fail to do so, or to install a previously installed      
   airbag passive restraint system without disclosing in writing  to  the      
   owner  or  lessee  of the vehicle that a used airbag passive restraint      
   system has been installed. Provides that records of any airbag passive      
   restraint system repairs must be maintained for at  least  48  months.      
   Provides  that  a violation is a business offense punishable by a fine      
   of not more than $5,000 and is an unlawful practice under the Consumer      
   Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.
