House Sponsors: HAMOS-MATHIAS-LYONS,EILEEN-BELLOCK-SOTO Short description: UNIFIED CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code, the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act, the Non-Support Punishment Act, and the Illinois Parentage Act of 1984 concerning the obligation of a parent to pay child support. Provides that, unless the child becomes emancipated, this obligation is extended to include a child under age 19 who is still attending high school. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Adds reference to: New Act Creates the Unified Child Support Services Act. Provides that by July 1, 2003 and by July 1 of each subsequent year, a State's Attorney, in cooperation with the appropriate county officials, may submit to the Department of Public Aid a plan for a unified child support services program. Sets forth the components that must be included in such a program. Requires the Department to establish performance standards for State's Attorneys operating such a program and for contractors and local governmental entities providing child support services as a part of the program. Requires the Department to submit to the General Assembly an annual report on the operation of unified child support services programs by State's Attorneys.
