Senate Sponsors: DILLARD. Short description: FIREARM OWNERS ID-SEARCH Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Provides that a peace officer may not search a person for the sole reason that the person has been issued a Firearm Owner's Identification Card by the Department of State Police. Provides that the issuance of a Firearm Owner's Identification Card does not in and of itself constitute probable cause to search a person and does not constitute a reasonable suspicion that the peace officer or another person is in danger of attack that would justify the peace officer searching the person for weapons. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 725 ILCS 5/108-15 new Adds reference to: 430 ILCS 65/1 from Ch. 38, par. 83-1 Deletes everything.
