Short description: 
WHISTLEBLOWER ACT-SUBPOENAS                                                

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Whistleblower Reward and Protection Act. In provisions      
   concerning civil investigative demands, changes  "civil  investigative      
   demand"  to "subpoena". Replaces the provisions concerning the content      
   and deadline requirements applicable to subpoenas. Authorizes  service      
   of a subpoena by any person so authorized by the Attorney General, and      
   removes  provisions  concerning  service  in  foreign countries. Makes      
   changes concerning oral testimony and transcripts of  oral  testimony.      
   Provides  that the Attorney General or the Attorney General's delegate      
   (instead of the Department of State Police) shall serve  as  custodian      
   of  documentary  material  received  under these provisions, and makes      
   other  changes  concerning  the  custody  and  availability  of   that      
   material.  Provides for enforcement of a subpoena in the circuit court      
   of Sangamon County or Cook County, in addition to other venues.  Makes      
   other changes.  Effective immediately.
