AN ACT concerning education.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Higher Education Student Assistance Act is |
amended by adding Section 65.85 as follows:

Sec. 65.85. Southern Illinois University's Achieve |
Program; grants to participants. Subject to appropriation, the |
Commission shall award grants to eligible students who are |
participants in the Clinical Center Achieve Program at Southern |
Illinois University at Carbondale. The Commission shall award |
grants to student participants based on a needs-based formula, |
as determined by the Commission. The amount of the grant shall |
equal the amount of fees charged the student as a participant |
of the program. Grant funds shall be paid directly to Southern |
Illinois University.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
2009.
