AN ACT concerning government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Local Records Act is amended by adding |
Section 14a as follows:
|
(50 ILCS 205/14a new) |
Sec. 14a. Procedures for the disposal of election records. |
The provisions of the Election Code do not supersede the |
provisions of this Act with regard to procedures for the |
disposal of election records. Local election authorities must |
comply with the provisions of this Act when destroying or |
disposing of public records.

Section 10. The Election Code is amended by adding Section |
1-15 as follows:

Sec. 1-15. Procedures for the disposal of election records. |
This Code is subject to the provisions of Section 14a of the |
Local Records Act.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
