AN ACT concerning local government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section |
5-25026 as follows:

(55 ILCS 5/5-25026 new)
|
Sec. 5-25026. Locally grown foods. Except in emergency |
situations, including but not limited to a food-borne disease |
outbreak, the board of health of a county or multi-county |
health department may not discourage the purchase or |
consumption of locally grown foods in relation to foods that |
are not locally grown.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
